[. . . ] Paper Size You may choose one of the predefined paper sizes or set an individual (user-defined) paper size. If the size of the paper source does not match the selected paper size a "Paper Size Error" will occur. Choose one of the predefined paper sizes. The default setting is "A4". Pi1501 5-15 5 Paper Source Working with the Printer Driver If the size of the paper source does not match the selected paper size a "Paper Size Error" will occur. Specify the drawer/tray from which the paper shall be fed. The default setting is "Auto". Copy Count By entering a value to the input field "Copies" you determine the number of copies. Use the adjacent arrow keys and click the value in the input field up resp. or Enter a value in the input field directly via the PC-keyboard. Orientation Specify whether the paper shall be printed in portrait mode or in landscape mode. 5-16 Pi1501 Working with the Printer Driver Index Card "Advanced" 5 This user guide supplies you with brief descriptions of the adjusting facilities within this card. You have online access to help and further details. Just click this button [?] first, and secondly choose and click the range of needed information. After you have selected a feature in the top range of the dialog box, the relevant values are displayed in the lower range of the dialog box. Paper/Output ­ All Settings The settings defined under "Paper/Output" are already described in the index card "Page Setup", see page 5-15. Graphic ­ Resolution Here the printer resolution for graphic print is determined. 1 In the top range of the dialog box select "Resolution". 2 In the lower range of the dialog box select "300 dots per inch" for the print of graphics in standard quality. The default setting is "300 dots per inch". or Select "600 dots per inch" for the print of graphics in highest quality. Pi1501 5-17 5 Working with the Printer Driver Document Options ­ Halftone Color Adjustment. . . Here you specify relevant values for gray scale output of the copier. Proceed as follows: 1 In the top window of the dialog box, select "Halftone Color Adjustment. . . ". 2 In the bottom window of the dialog box, click on [Halftone Color Adjustment]. A dialog box appears. 3 Change the preferred values. See page 4-5f. or read online help for further information. 4 Confirm the settings by clicking on [OK]. Document Options ­ Scan for Rules Here you can speed up the print of documents containing horizontal and vertical lines. 1 In the top range of the dialog box select "Scan for Rules". 2 In the lower range of the dialog box select "On" and the driver scans the document for horizontal resp. or Select "Off" and the driver does not scan the document. Document Options ­ Print Text as Graphics This function allows you to specify the format in which TrueType fonts are transmitted to the printer. Activate this function by selecting "On" if you have problems with the printout of TrueType fonts. 1 In the top range of the dialog box select "Print Text as Graphics". 2 In the lower range of the dialog box select "On" and TrueType fonts will be converted into bitmap format before the print. or Select "Off" and TrueType fonts will not be converted. 5-18 Pi1501 Working with the Printer Driver Document Options ­ Metafile Spooling 5 Here you can specify the format (EMF or RAW) in which to cache printing information on the hard disk of your computer while a print job is waiting in the print queue. The default setting is "On" (EMF).
