You can connect a commercially-available mini-plug (1/8") earphone to the MA-30 for private listening. In this case, the speaker will not produce sound. Use the Volume control to adjust the volume of the speaker or earphone. You can also use the Mute switch to silence the output by pressing the mute switch. Metronome mode Press the Metronome switch to enter Metronome mode. You will be in Metronome mode when you turn on the power. In Metronome mode you can set the tempo and time signature, and input tap tempo. The LCD will cycle through these three settings each time you press the Metronome switch. Press the Metronome switch so that the metronome is operating. (The pendulum in the LCD will be moving left and right. ) A guide will be displayed at the left and right of the LCD in time with the tempo. If you want to turn off this guide, turn the power off, and then back on again while holding down the M switch. Use the M or L switches to set the tempo. If you hold down the M or L switch, the tempo setting will change in steps of 20. If you hold down the M switch and press the L switch (or hold down the L switch and press the M switch), the setting will change faster. [. . . ] In this mode you can specify the pitch that will be sounded, and adjust the calibration. Each time you press the Sound switch you will alternate between these two settings. Specifying the pitch Press the Sound switch to make the LCD indicate “NOTE, ” and use the M or L switches to specify the pitch (note name). Adjusting the calibration (frequency of A4) Press the Sound switch to make the LCD indicate “CALIB, ” and use the M or L switches to adjust the frequency. [. . . ]
