The "Stop'n Serve" mechanism is opened as long as the glass carafe is inserted into the machine and sits properly on the warming plate and the swivel filter is closed properly. When brewing coffee make sure that the glass carafe is in place (see Stop'n Serve Section). FILLING THE WATER CHAMBER Open the hinged lid (see figure 0). Pour in the desired quantity of water (see figure 0). The water level indicator shows you how much water you are filling into the container. The amount of freshly brewed coffee delivered after the brewing process will always be slightly less than the amount put into the water container. This is due to the minimal absorption of the water by the ground coffee. Therefore, put in a little more water to begin with so that you will have the number of cups that you desire. Replace the glass carafe on the warming plate with the glass carafe lid in position. Switch the ON/OFF membrane to "ON". The indicator light will go on indicating that the brewing process has begun (see figure 0). SELECTING FLAVOR THE FULLEST AUTO SHUT-OFF AND WARM KEEPING The KRUPS "Coffee Time Plus" is equipped with an automatic shut-off feature, that will turn-off the machine 2 hours after the brewing process has begun. [. . . ] Then turn the coffeemaker "OFF" and let stand for 10 mihutes. After the then minute cooling period is over, turn the coffee maker back "ON" and let the rest of the solution f~w into the carafe. Rinse by cycling clean water through two or three times.
