Select LaserWriter 8, then choose NC2_123456 from the list of available printers. Click on Setup AppleTalk, then click on Select PPD . Highlight the proper PPD file for your Printer. Copy the NP2000 ADMIN Program on the Macintosh AppleTalk Administration Program diskette to a folder. For example, place the program in a folder called Utility. Double click on the NP2000 ADMIN Program icon when it appears on the desktop. The Zone and NC-2 Device Dialog menu appears. If your network has no zones, choose only from the NC-2 Device field, as no Zone field is displayed. Select the Zone that has the NC-2 device you want to administer. Available NC-2 devices on that Zone appear in the NC-2 Device field. Select the NC-2 Device you want to use. 4-4 AppleTalk Configuration & Administration Program AppleTalk Configuration & Administration Program Configuring the NC-2 Print Server Use the options added to the menu bar to configure the print server. Depending on your printer, certain functions may appear grayed out, which indicates that they cannot be selected. q q Use Printer Setup to configure your NC-2 for PostScript printers. Use Reset to perform a full reset of the NC-2 unit. When you select Reset from the NC-2 menu, the NC-2 resets automatically. Use Configuration to change the NC-2 device name, and the AppleTalk Zone name; and also view the NC-2 configuration features. You can change the NC-2 default name to another one you may prefer. Be sure to recycle the power to the NC-2 Off, then On; otherwise, the changes you made will not occur. [. . . ] Locate the JP3 Jumper on the board (see illustration below). Remove the jumper from the 10BT setting and place it on the THIN setting, as shown. This jumper must be changed in connection with the Media Selection Type jumper described on the previous page.
