The print cartridge does not print correctly if removed from the printer and left exposed for an extended period of time. Lexmark's printer warranty does not cover repair of failures or damage caused by a refilled cartridge. Lexmark does not recommend use of refilled cartridges. Refilling cartridges can affect print quality and cause damage to the printer. For help, see Understanding error messages and flashing lights. · The USB cable is securely attached to both the computer and the printer. · You disconnect your printer from hubs or other devices, such as a scanner or a fax machine. Then connect the printer directly to your computer. · The printer driver is installed correctly.
