Dial the number, including the area code. The In Use Net2Phone LED will light up, indicating that the phone call is being routed. If your Voice Enabler is installed properly and your account is set up, the phone call should be completed. If you experience any difficulty, refer to the Net2Phone Troubleshooting/Frequently Asked Questions section of the manual. *If you currently have a Net2Phone PC2Phone or Net2Phone Direct account number, it can not be used with this service! You must use the account number printed on the calling card that was enclosed with your Linksys EtherFast® Cable/DSL Voice Enabler powered by Net2Phone. **Any Net2Phone services provided through this Equipment manufactured by Linksys are not intended to replace or be a substitute for primary line voice services or Plain Old Telephone Service ("POTS) and are not meant to provide guaranteed Automatic Number Identification or Automatic Location Information capabilities associated with 911 or E911 services or to permit access to 411 directory assistance services. EtherFast® Cable/DSL Voice Enabler powered by Net2PhoneSM Using the Phone to Change the Voice Enabler's Settings Some settings of your Voice Enabler can be determined and/or changed using the telephone that is attached to the Enabler, rather than with the Web-based Utility. Refer to the chart below for a list of the settings that can be changed and how to change them. Please note that 0** is the default, so if you have not changed any settings at all, using either the phone or the Web-based Utility, you are depending on your DHCP software to assign the Voice Enabler an IP address. Also, dialing any of the entries listed above with no other numbers after it will result in the Voice Enabler reporting that particular setting back to you. For example, if you dial 1** with no numbers after it, the Voice Enabler will "read" the currently assigned IP address to you. If you dial 3** with no numbers after it, the Voice Enabler will "read" the currently assigned Gateway IP Address to you. Note: Changing any of these settings will affect how the Voice Enabler connects to and is recognized by your network. Make a note of all settings before changing them, so you can restore them if necessary. Entering improper values may result in an inability to make calls using the Voice Enabler. 13 14 Instant BroadbandTM Series EtherFast® Cable/DSL Voice Enabler powered by Net2PhoneSM Setup The Cable/DSL Voice Enabler's Web-based Utility Quick & Easy Administration The EtherFast® Cable/DSL Voice Enabler has a web-based administrative utility programmed into its hardware. All administrative tasks are performed through this web utility. The web utility can be accessed by any PC on the network by typing http:// and the Voice Enabler's IP address into the PC's web browser address window. Note: Refer to the section called Configuring Your Cable/DSL Voice Enabler if you don't know your Voice Enabler's IP address. Note: The Setup page shown in this graphic may differ from the one seen on your Voice Enabler. Upon entering the address into the web browser, a password request page will pop up. Leave the User Name field empty, but type "admin" into the Password field. The basic Setup screen is the first screen you will see when you access the utility. If you have already installed and setup your Voice Enabler, you have already seen this screen and have already properly configured all of the screen's values. · Host Name This entry identifies your Voice Enabler. If you have more than one Voice Enabler, it might be of use to label them differently. Otherwise, there is usually no need to change this entry.
