[. . . ] When flying over the ocean, the surface shading in the Profile Window reverts to a pattern of small Xs, indicating no risk of flying into elevated terrain. All map screens will show the terrain relief shading except for the Navigation Panel and the Aviation Map option. On those screens, the terrain awareness color highlight does appear. 53 Transfer Custom Maps and GPS Data Files Custom maps work only from the MMC card or SDC card. When a card containing a Custom Map File is loaded into the unit, AirMap automatically loads the map into memory when the unit is turned on. Instructions for copying Custom Map Files to an MMC are contained in the instruction manual for your MMC card reader and MapCreate 6 software. For instructions on inserting an MMC into AirMap, see Sec. GPS Data files, containing waypoints, routes, trails and event marker icons, must be copied from an MMC to AirMap's internal memory before AirMap can read them. Press to TRANSFER MY DATA|ENT and the screen in the following image appears. The Transfer My Data submenu asks if you want to save data to the MMC or load data from the MMC into AirMap's memory. 2.
