Manual abstract: user guide MAGNA-MATIC MAG-7000

Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] MAGNA-MATIC CORP warrants the tools manufactured and/or repaired to be free of defects in material and workmanship for a period of 365 days after purchase. Any tool or part proved to MAGNA-MATIC's satisfaction to be defective during that period will be repaired or replaced at MAGNA-MATIC's option if returned prepaid. MAGNA-MATIC's sole obligation and your exclusive remedy under this warranty shall be limited to such repair or replacement. [. . . ] Gravity has its greatest effect on the heavy side at the 3 o'clock position. The out of balance condition is (Lx)(Wx) = moment (Moment = length of arm times weight is expressed as inchoz or cmg). To determine the actual moment, measure the length then place a known weight on the opposite side, great enough to balance both sides. In the event that the arbor does not rotate freely, return the instrument to us for evaluation. Under no circumstance should force greater than manual hand push be applied!MAGNA-MATIC Arbor Balancers are precision measuring instruments to measure the balance condition of the Hub Product. KNOWLEDGE AND PROCEDURE FOR MAXIMUM BALANCE ACCURACY MEASURMENT The acceleration of rotation of the heavy end from the 3 o'clock position is a indication of how much the product is out-of-balance. DO NOT DROP OR MISUSE!USE INSTRUCTIONS Instructions given with this symbol are for personal safety. Be sure you and your workers follow them. Before using any equipment read and understand the instructions. A careful operator is the best insurance against accidents. PRODUCT CORRECTION Remove a small amount of non-critical material at the 6 o'clock position. Re-check the mark at 3 o'clock until the product remains stationary -- NO MOTION A balanced product must be checked to be in balance at least at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock. A balanced hub product must remain stationary at any position. There exist two types of dry (Coulomb) friction A - Static Friction no motion B - Kinetic Friction motion F MOUNTING THE BALANCER Mount on a vertical upright stand, with two (2) bolts (5/16" recommended) Assure that ample hub product rotational clearance exists. The hub product to be measured must be free to rotate. Static It takes more force to get impending motion than to keep moving. Kinetic Don't be injured by a falling Hub Product. MAGNA-MATIC Arbor Balancers hold the hub product by sliding the hub over the arbor or by pushing (snugging) the hub onto the taper. For maximum accuracy check the hub product in various positions. Place a mark at 3 o'clock use your hand to lightly tap the table where the balancers' vertical upright stand rests. This procedure is not to be performed on taper arbor balances Vibration can break the taper and let the product fall. A slight vibration into the bearings will overcome the greater static force to help impending motion, if there's an out of balance condition. The accuracy of this balancer is limited to the A - Concentricity of the arbor B - The frictional force of the bearing. Both are in the super precision range and for this application achives greater accuracy than may be necessary. HUB PRODUCT MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS With both hands slide the straight hub product hole over the arbor. [. . . ] Position the mark on the arbor at 12:00 o'clock and mount the selected product with the heavy end at 3:00 o'clock. Let it free swing out and record the location of the heavy end. Repeat the procedure positioning the mark at 3:00, 6:00, and 9:00 o'clock with the heavy end always starting at 3:00 o'clock and record each. W1 NO MOTION 6 o'clock L1 x W1 = L2 x W2 Conclusion: NO ROTATION 1. [. . . ]
