Adjusting the Program settings In this sub-menu you can adjust application-specific parameters. · This sub-menu allows you to adjust the reception of TMC, TMCpro, V-Trafic and Trafficmaster traffic news, as long as these services are available in this version of your navigation software. Note TMC is a digital radio data service which transmits information about traffic congestion via the Radio Data System (RDS) and can be interpreted by your navigation device. TMC uses data supplied by the police, traffic jam reports or other available sources. TMCpro, on the other hand, accesses information recorded by automatic data sensors on motorway bridges, sensors integrated into the carriageway and vehicles with "Floating Car Data" (FCD) technology. If your navigation device is equipped with Premium TMC, the French traffic service VTrafic and Trafficmaster from the UK are also available to you. The reception quality of the traffic service signal is indicated via the status indicator on the upper edge of the map view. If your navigation system is designed to receive TMC news, you can select the following options using the buttons in the lower portion: o The device calculates an automatic traffic jam detour (see also Adjusting the Program settings) using the available TMC information. As an alternative to the setting you can select the following options: o o The traffic jam avoidance function based on TMC information is not active With the manual traffic avoidance function you are only informed of any traffic disturbances conveyed via TMC with a warning symbol in the map view. Your navigation device automatically searches for a station. If reception quality deteriorates, the device immediately starts searching for a new station. As an alternative to the setting you can select the following option: o Using manual station search you can permanently set a TMC station using the buttons and . If reception quality deteriorates, the device does not search for a new station. Your navigation device receives TMCpro, V-Trafic and Trafficmaster news at the same time: TMCpro traffic information is indicated separately in the list display. As an alternative to the setting you can select the following option: o Your navigation device receives only TMCpro news, not TMC, V-Trafic or Trafficmaster (if available for your device). o o Note The buttons and only appear if you search for the TMC station manually. 29 Adjusting the settings Tip You can retrofit the commercial service V-Trafic if needed: In this case, traffic information for France is also available. · The time zone of the navigation software at the time of delivery is set to GMT+1:00 (Greenwich Mean Time plus 1 hour). This setting corresponds to the time zone in Amsterdam, Berlin, Rome. As an alternative to the setting you can select the following options: o The time zone is set to Greenwich Mean Time. This setting corresponds to the time zone in Edinburgh, Lisbon, London. Call up other applications using the voice command function Proceed as follows to select the Other applications selection menu using the voice command function: · Say Other applications (or Applications), while in the Navigation or Settings menu.
