Setting the film speed on the mecablitz: Adjust the speed of the film loaded in the camera on the back of the flashgun by selecting the required value in the , , ISO Window" with the aperture slide. The mecablitz transmits different signals and messages to the camera when it is connected to the camera and is switched on. 1 Flash-ready indication The orange light on the mecablitz illuminates when the flash capacitor is fully primed, thereby indicating flash readiness. This means that flash can be used for the next exposure. the flash readiness signal is transmitted to the camera where it is indicated by a corresponding display in the camera's viewfinder. On some cameras (depending on the model) the shutter is automatically changed to flash sync speed when flash readiness is reached. The flash will not be fired if the shutter is released before the flash ready light illuminates with the result that the exposure may be incorrect if the camera control circuit has already changed over to flash sync speed. 2 Automatic flash sync speed control Most system cameras automatically change to flash sync speed when flash readiness is reached. The flash sync shutter speeds may vary between 1/30th and 1/250th second, depending on the camera model. 3) The green correct exposure light briefly illuminates when flash exposure was correct. Some cameras feature an incorrect exposure warning facility: A blinking stop value or shutter speed setting, or when both displays are blinking, indicates that the shot was either underexposed or overexposed In the event of incorrect exposure: 4 Information displayed in the camera's viewfinder blinks: Switch on the flash (on some cameras) illuminated: The flash is ready for use (on some cameras) Please refer to your camera's operating instructions to find out if this applies to your camera model. â· With underexposure: Activate the flash or use a tripod and set a slower shutter speed! There can be different reasons for incorrect exposures within the different exposure and auto programs. Please refer to the camera's operating instructions to establish whatever applies to your camera. The mecablitz receives its information exclusively from the connected TTL-controlled camera. exposure measurement in TTL mode (TTL = throughthe-lens) is completed by the camera's sensor. This sensor measures the light reaching the film through the camera lens. [. . . ] â· Shutter release priority (AI Servo AF): The shutter can always be tripped, irrespective of sharp focusing. Shots may be blurred if the release is actuated before focusing has been completed by the camera. the AF measuring flash is deactivated in this operating mode!32 Please refer to your camera's operating instructions for further details about the AF modes and their activation.
