[. . . ] We are happy to welcome you as a customer. Of course, you are excited to start using the flash unit right away. However, it is worthwhile reading the operating instructions first to learn how to use the flash correctly. This flash unit is suited for: · digital Sony reflex cameras with TTL , TTL preflash and ADI metering. [. . . ] setting procedure · Press button combination , , Select" until , , Zoom" appears flashing next to the zoom position (mm). The following zoom positions are possible for the main reflector: 24 - 28 - 35 - 50 - 70 - 85 - 105 mm (35 mm format). After about 5 seconds the display stops flashing and the setting is saved automatically.  When the camera transmits the lens focal length to the flash unit and a manual zoom setting results in the shot not being completely lit by the main reflector (for example, spot effect), the display of the zoom position of the main reflector flashes as a warning!Tip: If you do not necessarily need the full guide number and maximum flash range of the flash unit, you can leave the zoom reflector at the position for the shortest focal length of the zoom lens. This will provide full light coverage of the picture and eliminate the need to continually adjust it to the focal length of the lens. Example: You use a zoom lens with a focal length range of 35 mm to 105 mm. In this case, you set the position of the main reflector of the flash unit to 35 mm. resetting to auto-zoom · Touch the shutter release to begin a data transfer between the flash unit and the camera. After about 5 seconds the display stops flashing and the setting is saved automatically.  The return from manual zoom mode to auto-zoom mode also occurs if the flash unit is switched on again with the main switch . In the remote operating mode manual M, a partial light output can be set to adjust the light output: · Press the "Select" button repeatedly until P and the manual partial light output are displayed. Use the ( + ) and ( - ) buttons to make the required setting. Settings from P 1/1 (full light output) to P 1/128) are possible. 5 seconds the indicator stops flashing and the setting is memorised automatically. After a partial light output has been set, EV starts flashing on the display showing that a partial light output has been set. The partial light output selected can be changed via the ( + ) and ( - ) buttons as required. Setting the remote channel To ensure that several remote systems used in the same room do not interfere with one another, four independent remote channels (CH 1, 2, 3 or 4) are available. In activated remote slave operating mode, press the "Select" button repeatedly until CH (= remote channel) starts flashing on the display. Use the ( + ) and ( - ) buttons to make the required setting. You can choose between channels 1, 2, 3 and 4. 5 seconds the indicator stops flashing and the setting is memorised automatically. [. . . ] Switching to sync speed does not occur in the process. The camera operates with shutter speeds that are slower than the flash sync speed. Depending on the camera mode, there is no switch to flash sync speed (see the camera's operating instructions). Because of parallax error between lens and flash unit, close-up shots may not, depending on the focal length at the bottom of the image, be fully illuminated. [. . . ]
