[. . . ] Open the two velcro flaps on the back of your little patient. (see Fig. 1) You will see the Battery Compartment. With a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew and remove the battery compartment door. Insert three "AA" batteries (1. 5V) with the positive (+) and negative (-) ends facing in the direction indicated inside the compartment. Replace the battery compartment door and screw. Slide the Power Switch at the back of your doll, above the battery compartment, to the "ON" position. 1 OFF ON 1. 5V C 1. 5V C 1. 5V C OFF ON 1. 5V C 1. 5V C 1. 5V C TROUBLE SHOOTING AND HELPFUL HINTSs 1. If your little patient doesn't stop crying, make sure the position of the Pacifier/Thermometer is positioned against the circular spot in the center of her mouth. If you don't hear a heart beat sound when pressing the stethoscope against your patient's heart, make sure you are pressing in the correct position (her chest, upper-left side). If you don't hear the drinking sound when you place the special Medicine Spoon into your patient's mouth, make sure you have placed the spoon at the correct angle so that the contact of the spoon touches the upper lip inside the mouth or horizontal to the lip inside the mouth. If the boo boo doesn't magically disappear, remember that the change is not sudden and may take several minutes, and also that the temperature of the boo boo must be at least 97°F (36°C), which is typical body temperature. If your little patient behaves strangely or you experience problems, slide the Power Switch to "OFF" and then back to the "ON" position. [. . . ] When not in use for an extended time, remove batteries to prevent possible leakage. Exhausted batteries are to be removed from the doll immediately. [. . . ]
