Manual abstract: user guide MINOURA MAG-850LW

Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] Accidents may occur from cracked or damaged couplings. A) You should not tighten the wheel axle by tightening the left side knob. This is for pre-adjusting the wheel position to the exactly center of the drive roller only. Securley tightening your bike to the trainer should be done with the right side hub handle only. [. . . ] Hold the bike firmly by hand and turn the right side hub handle clockwise until the coupling comes into contact with the right side skewer nut. Apply the Mag unit to the tire by lifting up it temporally to know the wheel position. If the tire touches either left or right side platic housing of the Mag unit (see Fig. F), you must adjust the wheel position again by operating both left knob and the right hub handle. NOTE: Be sure that the left knob is NOT for tightening the axle. Clamping wheel securely must be done by the right side hub handle. (Fig. F) -4- 6 At this point, stop tightening the hub handle and ensure that both ends of the skewer are securely inserted into the couplings. Finally turn the hub handle a maximum of two more turns to ensure the bicycle is held firmly. NOTE: Over-tightening the hub handle may cause damage to either the trainer or your bicycle. (Fig. G) 7 Turn the micro-adjust screw located beneath the foot pedal at the rear of the trainer until the rear tire is 2mm away from the drive roller. G & H) Press down on the foot pedal to bring the drive roller into contact with the rear tire (see Fig. If the tire is compressed more than 3mm by the roller, release the foot pedal and loosen the micro-adjust screw until the tire is compressed by 2 - 3mm when in contact with the drive roller. WARNING: Too much or too little contact between the tire and the roller can cause premature tire wear and possibly damage the drive roller. H) 8 ! USING THE SMALL WHEEL ADAPTER (Required Tools: M5 hex wrench, 10mm open spanner) (Fig. I) If you wish to use any smaller wheel sized between 24 x 1. 0" and 26 x 1. 75" on the trainer, install the supplied adapter under the Mag unit. J) 1 Remove two bolts which hold the Mag unit on the fitting bracket by an M5 hex wrench. Install the supplied "Z" shaped adapter on the fitting bracket with the removed bolts. Make sure the direction of the adapter is exactly same as shown in Fig. J. Adapter Fitting Bracket 10mm Spanner 2 (Fig. J) 3 Install the Mag unit onto the adapter with the supplied bolts. Be sure you should use a 10mm open spanner to tighten these bolts, not by a hex wrench. -5- USING THE PLATIC SKEWER NUT PROTECTOR We recommend you should replace your wheel axle to the supplied quick release skewer to avoid any fitting problem that may occur during workout, because our coupling is designed to fit to the supplied skewer only. (Fig. K) The right side coupling has a black plastic skewer nut protector (called a "Grommet"). This is to protect your skewer from damage during use. Minoura cannot guarantee compatibility with all makes and models of skewer, however when using your own skewer please use the supplied grommet. We will NOT guarantee any fitting problem or accident caused by using your own skewer on the trainer. When you use the supplied skewer, you should remove the grommet from the coupling. It can be done by inserting a rod or a pen to the hole (see Fig. [. . . ] Do not try to adjust the lever with your feet while riding. (Fig. Q) -7- TROUBLE SHOOTING YOUR REMOTE SHIFTER UNIT If you cannot shift to either the lowest (L) or the highest (H) position, it is possible that the inner wire of the remote shifter cable is too long and the wire tension is loose. If so, please adjust the tension with the following steps. Nut Plastic Cap Cable 1 Set the remote shifter lever at "H" position. Remove the remote shifter device from the handlebar and straighten the cable. [. . . ]
