[. . . ] Note: Keep your MINOX CD 112 as warm as possible when using it under temperature conditions of below zero. With the MINOX CD 112 data back camera, you must reset the date and/or the time each time you replace the battery. Do not throw empty batteries into open fire!Short-circuited, disassembled or heated batteries are dangerous and can cause injuries. [. . . ] To take your picture, press down firmly on the shutter release button; your film will automatically advance to the next frame. You can switch off your camera by pressing the power switch again. Note: If you select one of the flash modes described below, it will remain active until you switch off your camera or switch to a new operating mode. Automatic flash mode When you switch on your camera, it will be in the automatic flash mode. To prevent underexposure, your MINOX CD 112 automatically activates the flash, in which case both the red and the green ready-light will light when pressing the shutter release button lightly. For taking a picture, press down firmly on the shutter release button. After a photo has been taken, the red ready-light will light for a few seconds, indicating that your flash is recharging. Wait until the light turns off before taking your next photo. Reducing the "red eye effect" Photos of people taken with a flash often show them with red eyes. To reduce this "red eye effect", your MINOX CD 112 is equipped with a pre-flash feature, which helps people get accustomed to the flash, as it leads to a contraction of their pupils. To activate the pre-flash, press the "MODE" button (6) several times until the indicating arrow (w) points at the symbol . Should the lighting conditions be very good, this function will not be activated. Tip: To reduce the "red eye effect" further, keep the people to be photographed from looking directly into the camera. Your camera will now activate the flash even in very good lighting conditions. The time exposure/flash mode With this feature, you can set your camera to take extra-long exposures and, at the same time, use your flash. This is especially useful if your subject requires fill-in light and your background needs an extra-long exposure; for example, when photographing people in front of a city skyline at night. To activate this feature, press the "MODE" button (6) several times until the arrow (w) points at the symbol . depending on the lighting conditions , the shutter will remain open for up to one second. To avoid camera shake, use the MINOX pocket tripod. Manual flash/off mode Sometimes the beauty and mood of a landscape in dying light can be captured better without the use of a flash. To switch off your flash, press the "MODE" button (6) several times until the arrow (w) points at the symbol . Your MINOX CD 112 will automatically switch off the flash and adjust to shutter speeds of up to 3. [. . . ] Please note the following instructions when using a MINOX CD 112 equipped with a data back: By pressing the "MODE" button you can choose between date and time. If you have selected the date option, you can choose between Day/ Month/Year, Month/Day/Year or Year/Month/Day.
