Before operating vehicle on any grade (hill) refer to the safety rules in the vehicle owners manual concerning safe operation on slopes. This equipment is not meant for street or highway use. Watch for traffic when de-thatching near highways. [. . . ] See figure 7. FAST-ATTACH TRACTORS USE FRONT HOLES 5/16" LOCK WASHER 5/16" x 1" CARRIAGE BOLT 5/16" HEX NUT AXLE BUSHING 3/8" x 1-1/4" CARRIAGE BOLT 3/8" HEX NUT 3/8" LOCK WASHER FIGURE 9 14. Apply a light coating of oil to the axle. Assemble a 5/8" washer, the wheel (long end of hub first) and another 5/8" washer onto axle. See figure 10. MOUNTING ARM FIGURE 7 12. STANDARD FRAME TRACTORS ONLY Assemble mounting arms to inside of angle mounting brackets using four 5/16" x 1" carriage bolts, 5/16" lock washers and 5/16" hex nuts. Fasten through rear set of holes in mounting arms. See figure 8. STANDARD FRAME TRACTORS USE REAR HOLES 5/16" LOCK WASHER 5/16" HEX 5/16" x 1" NUT CARRIAGE BOLT FIGURE 10 16. Apply a light coating of oil to the axle. Assemble another 5/8" washer onto axle and secure with a 1/8" hairpin cotter. See figure 11. MOUNTING ARM 1/8" HAIRPIN COTTER FIGURE 8 13. Loosely fasten front ends of mounting arms together using two 3/8" x 1-1/4" carriage bolts, 3/8" lock washers and 3/8" hex nuts. Place axle bushing between front ends of mounting arms, centering bushing up and down. Tighten bolts securely in front ends of mounting arms. See figure 9. 6 21/32" WASHER APPLY OIL FIGURE 11 18. Assemble handle lock bracket to lift handle arm using two 5/16" x 1" carriage bolts, 5/16" lock washers and 5/16" hex nuts. hitch bracket assembly using two 5/16" x 1" hex bolts and 5/16" nylock nuts. Use the upper set of holes in the lift handle arm, unless you have a Fast-Attach tractor with 15" tires. Use the bottom set of holes for a FastAttach tractor with 15" tires. FAST-ATTACH TRACTORS WITH 15" FRONT TIRES Attach the hitch brackets to the ends of the mounting arms using two 5/8" x 7/8" clevis pins and 1/8" hairpin cotters. Fasten to the upper holes in the hitch brackets. See figure 14. UPPER HOLE HANDLE LOCK BRACKET 5/16" HEX NUT 5/16" x 1" CARRIAGE BOLT 5/16" LOCK WASHER 5/8" x 7/8" CLEVIS PIN (LARGE) 1/8" HAIRPIN COTTER 5/16" NYLOCK NUT 5/16" x 1" HEX BOLT FIGURE 14 USE BOTTOM HOLES FOR FAST-ATTACH TRACTOR WITH 15" TIRES. FIGURE 12 22. ALL OTHER TRACTORS Attach the hitch brackets to the ends of the mounting arms using two 5/8" x 7/8" clevis pins and 1/8" hairpin cotters.
