One 5/8" Open-end Wrench One 11/16" Socket Wrench or Adjustable Wrench
Step 2: Mount Sweep To Bracket Assembly.
A. Place the bracket assembly (the channel bracket and C-shaped bracket which you have just assembled) into the concave channel of the Sweep flange. Align the holes in the channel mounting bracket with the holes in the flange. Place a 2" plow bolt through each hole in the Sweep flange with the heads toward the front of the V-shaped Sweep.
DO YOU HAVE A TROY-BILT TOW HITCH?
To use the Sweep Cultivator, the Sweep Cultivator must be connected to the Tow Hitch attachment on the Power Unit. The two hitch-pins keep the Sweep on a straight-ahead course. If you do not have a Troy-Bilt Tow Hitch and the literature “How to Install the Tow Hitch, ” order these items by contacting the Parts Department at the phone number given on Page 4.
ATTACH SWEEP CULTIVATOR TO TOW HITCH
As previously mentioned, the Sweep Cultivator connects to the Tow Hitch Attachment on the Power Unit. Attach the Sweep Cultivator to the Tow Hitch as follows: Step 1: Fit the C-shaped mounting bracket over the top and bottom of the Tow Hitch and align the holes in the hitch with those in the mounting bracket. Slip a 7/16" lockwasher and then a 7/16" hex nut onto each of the plow bolts. Using an 11/16" socket wrench or an adjustable wrench, tighten bolts alternately until both are secure. [. . . ] Weeds smaller than 2-3", and those which have barely emerged from the soil, are shocked by the movement of the soil and the breakage of the root hairs. Even though they are not cut directly, this impact often stops further growth.
