Enter the fax number. You can use the numeric keypad, one-touch keys, speed-dial numbers, group numbers and Tel index. 4 4 Transmission Enter fax number. _ 4 4 Group Clear Broadcas 1 3 6 To add additional fax numbers, repeat steps 3 and 4. Press START. Note If you want to erase the fax number you've already entered, select it using the cursor key after pressing [Broadcas]. Then press [Clear]. 5 Fax Canceling commands Press JOB REVIEW & COMM. CANCEL. If your machine is attempting to perform a command, it will appear on the display. Skip to step 4. Select "Reserved Transmission" using the cursor key and press [Enter]. Select the command you want to cancel using the cursor key. 6 1 2, 4 2, 3 Press [Erase]. If you want to cancel another command, repeat steps 3­4. To finish, press RESET. Note Press [Location] to see the individual numbers within the broadcast in step 3. To return to the previous display, press [Location] again. 7 Copy Basic copy Press COPY to change to Copy mode. Set the document as follows: When setting the document in the ADF 1. Place the document on the FBS glass face down and align it to the rear left corner. Close the platen cover. Note: The number of the pages you can set in the ADF at one time is 50 sheets. Adjust the document type and the contrast, if necessary. 8 3 Copy Ready 100% Set 5 1 Paper Zoom Sort 1 6 Select the recording paper and set the advanced copy features, if necessary. Enter the number of copies using the numeric keypad. Press START. Note Any time you press RESET, the machine resets the display to the initial screen and press RESET again to return the machine to its initial condition. 9 Copy Reduce/Enlarge copy Set the document. 1® 2-sided 2® 2-sided 2® 1-sided Book(Face) Book(F&B) Enter 1 3, 4, 5 4 6 Select the type of duplex copy using the cursor key. Then press [Enter]. Select the binding position using the cursor key. Then press [Enter]. Press START. Note Set the documents in the ADF as shown: 1 1 or 17 Just in case Clearing Document jams Document jam Open & Check the blinking cover. If the ADF cover is blinking on the LCD Open the ADF cover by holding the ADF cover release. Remove the original document from the machine by turning the green dial right. If you cannot remove the original document, proceed to step 3. Open the inner cover and remove the document by turning the green dial right. If you cannot remove the original document, proceed to step 4. 18 Lift the document tray and remove the document. Close the inner cover and the ADF cover, making sure both sides are snapped down securely. If this LCD appears, you can continue scanning from the jammed page. If you want to continue, press [Yes]. If you press [No], only scanned pages will be transmitted or copied. Open the platen cover. Open the ADF cover by holding the ADF cover release. Remove the original document from the machine by turning the green dial right or left. If you cannot see the paper under the platen cover, remove the paper from the ADF as shown on pages 32-33. CAUTION: Be careful not to put your hand under the platen cover and the ADF cover. Confirm that documents do not remain in the ADF cover. Then close the ADF cover and the platen cover. 20 If this LCD appears, you can continue scanning from the jammed page. If you want to continue, press [Yes]. If you press [No], only scanned pages will be transmitted or copy. Do not touch the fuser unit when you are removing a paper jam. Never touch the electrical contacts inside the printer cover and under the drum cartridge, as an electrostatic discharge may damage the machine. IMPORTANT When paper is jammed inside the machine Open the printer cover by holding the printer cover release (R1). Open the fuser cover by holding the fuser cover release (R2). Remove the jammed paper. Close the fuser cover. 22 Remove the jammed paper. Remove the jammed paper. Close the printer cover. Close the side cover. Open the side cover. Pull the cassette toward you and remove the paper in the cassette. Reset the papers and close the cassette. Turn the green dial to remove the jammed paper.
