[. . . ] The scanner will automatically load the film from the APS (IX240) cartridge. Note: If no operations are performed for approximately ten minutes, the film will automatically be wound back into the cartridge. The latch button will lock when film is fed from the cartridge into the scanner. Do not attempt to open the latch until scanning is complete. [. . . ] After removing the IA-20 (S) from the scanner, be sure to close the adapter slot cover. Observe the following precautions when handling APS (IX240) film cartridges: · Do not pull the film from the cartridge. ⷠDo not drop the cartridge or subject it to strong physical shock. ⷠDo not allow dust, dirt, water, sand, or other foreign objects into the cartridge. ⷠDo not attempt to use undeveloped film in the IA-20 (S). The adaptor cover will not close when undeveloped film is inserted; do not attempt to force the cover closed. Do not trim or otherwise modify APS film for use in the IA-20 (S). Do not touch exposed parts Should the product break open as the result of a fall or other accident, do not touch the exposed parts. Failure to observe this precaution could result in injury or electric shock. Unplug the scanner's power cable and take the product to a Nikon-authorized service center for inspection. Keep dry Do not immerse the product, get water on the product, or leave the product in the rain. Failure to observe this precaution could result in fire or electric shock. Do not use in the presence of flammable gas or dust Failure to observe this precaution could result in explosion or fire. Do not disassemble, modify, or attempt repairs Failure to obser ve this precaution could result in electric shock or in equipment malfunction leading to injury. Turn off and unplug the scanner immediately should you notice anything out of the ordinary Should you notice an unusual noise, smell, or smoke coming from the equipment, turn the scanner off at once and unplug the power cable. CAUTIONS Do not handle the equipment when your hands are wet Failure to observe this precaution could result in electric shock. Keep equipment out of reach of children Failure to observe this precaution could result in injury. The illustrations in this manual show the IA-20(S) in use with the 4000 ED/COOLSCAN IV ED film scanner. [. . . ] Remove dust from the interior of the adapter with a blower. volatile cleaners such as alcohol , benzine , or thinner could stain the exterior of the adapter or cause malfunction. Remove the adapter from the scanner when not in use. When you do not plan to use the adapter for an extended period of time, store it where at temperatures between ­20°C (­4°F) and 60ºC (140ºF) and the humidity is between 20% and 90%. [. . . ]
