[. . . ] After reading, be sure to keep it where it can be seen by all those who use the product. Do not connect the battery pack to any device not mentioned in this manual. ⷠDo not use any other types of batteries than those recommended in this manual. [. . . ] Hold the battery-chamber cover at about 45°, gently pull until the peg (Figure 2B- ) pulls free and remove the cover. Insert the battery-chamber cover into the battery-chamber cover holder on the MB-E5700 and slide the battery-chamber cover latch to the position as shown in Figure 2B- . Do not attempt to remove the battery-chamber cover before the coupling contacts cover or you may damage the camera. ⷠTo avoid losing the coupling contacts and battery-chamber covers, be sure to attach each to its respective holder on the MB-E5700. To remove the battery pack, reverse the above steps. Whenever you attach or remove the battery pack, be sure that the camera is off and that the shutter-release button locking ring on the battery pack is in the L position. ⷠReplace the battery-chamber cover by inserting the cover's right peg into the hole at Figure 2H- , then slide the left peg (closest to the coupling contacts) into its slot. slide the coupling contacts cover back into place (Figure 2H- ). Be sure to replace the battery-chamber cover before the coupling contacts cover. For more information, refer to the Guide to Digital Photography included with your camera. Before inserting batteries, be sure that the camera is off and that the shutter-release button locking ring on the battery pack is in the L position. Insert six LR6 (AA) batteries, taking care to orient the battery terminals as shown on the inside of the battery holder (Figure 2F). note that all the batteries have the same orientation. Slide the battery holder into the battery pack and slide the battery holder latch to the position (Figure 2G). Turn the camera on and check the battery level in the control panel, or in the monitor or viewfinder. If you will not be using the battery pack for long periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage. [. . . ] To turn the camera on and off, use the camera's power switch.
