The lead may lose flexibility when the bracket is exposed to temperatures below 0°C (32°F). Do not leave the bracket unattended or store it in areas subject to extremely high temperatures, such as in a closed vehicle or in locations exposed to direct sunlight. Failure to observe this precaution could damage or deform the bracket. Do not immerse the bracket or leave it unattended or store it in areas of high humidity. Failure to observe this precaution could result in malfunction or decay. AF-assist illumination will not activate even if the Nikon Speedlight used supports this feature. Contact the Nikon service representative in your area for information on Nikon Speedlights not listed in this manual. No more than five flash units can be used at one time for synchro-flash photography. With other types of flash, use a wide panel to increase the illuminating angle. The auto power zoom feature found on some flashes will not function while the flash is attached to the flash bracket. Light from the flash will be metered using the camera's built-in photocell, allowing the camera to adjust flash intensity automatically. The built-in flash is charged when the red LED next to the camera's viewfinder lights, while external Speedlights are charged when the Speedlight flash-ready lamp comes on. Owing to the fact that they use different power sources, the time needed to charge the built-in flash and external Speedlights will differ. Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH) batteries are recommended to decrease the time needed for the built-in flash to charge. After the external flash fires at maximum intensity, the Speedlight ready lamp will blink for two or three seconds. check the resulting photograph in the camera's LCD monitor.
