In the first stage of separation,  a disposable paper bag captures the bulk of collected debris. The prefilter protects the motor and acts as a barrier to particles in the event a bag breaks. HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filters ensure that 99. 97% of all ultrafine particles,  toxic or nuisance,  are retained down to and including 0. 3 microns. Rounded ergonomic design reduces bulk and promotes comfort and maneuverability in confined areas.
