Installing Your PCMCIA CardModem u If there is another slot then try installing the card in that slot. u If you are also running a Network card in the other slot then try loading the modem drivers only. · This will check if the Network card drivers are interfering with the modem configuration · If the modem responds without the Network drivers loaded, you will have to set your bootup for a MultiConfig which loads either the Modem drivers or the Network drivers · Alternatively you can contact your laptop manufacturer for the latest Card and Socket Services drivers as this may help The modem is not sending faxes properly with Cooee u Try changing the Comm driver that Windows is using. · Edit the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM. INI and in the [boot] section change the COMM. DRV statement so that it is set to COMM. DRV=COMM. DRV · If this is already set try COMM. DRV=CYBERCOM. DRV or if your laptop is using System Soft Card Services, try COMM. DRV=SSCOMM. DRV The modem is not responding under Windows 95 u Ensure that the card is inserted completely into the socket. See if there are any options to enable the slot such as powering the slot on or unlocking the security of the slot. 28 Easy installation and User Guide 7. Installing Your PCMCIA CardModem u Try removing the installed modem from the Control Panel. · Edit the CONFIG. SYS and AUTOEXEC. BAT and remove any PCMCIA drivers · Restart with no drivers at all loading for the modem and try adding new hardware again in the Control Panel u If there is another slot then try installing the card in that slot.
