How to use the flash: When the flash is necessary, the Orange lamp blinks. 1 Push the Flash pop-up lever to set the flash before using the flash or when selecting flash modes. 2 When the Orange lamp stays lit after pressing the Shutter release button halfway, the flash is charged and ready to be used. The flash is being charged while the Orange lamp is blinking. Wait until the Orange lamp goes off before taking the picture. How to select the flash mode: This camera has three flash modes. Select the mode according to the shooting condition. When the Flash is down, appears on the control panel and the flash is set to the OFF mode. The Fill-In Flash mode returns to the Auto-Flash mode after the power is turned off or the flash is closed. When you take a picture that is backlit, position the subject within the Autofocus mark to fire the flash. Except for the pre-flashes, this mode is the same as the Auto-Flash mode. Be sure to hold the camera still until the shutter releases. Red-eye reduction may not be effective when the subject: · Is too far from the camera. Is not looking at the flash from the front or is not watching the pre-flashes. Has taken medication, alcohol or drugs which may interfere with the red-eye reduction process by slowing reflexes.
