[. . . ] V069-E1-03 NT21, NT31, and NT631 Series Programmable Terminals Reference Manual NT21, NT31, and NT631 Series Programmable Terminals Reference Manual Revised February 2008 iv Notice: OMRON products are manufactured for use according to proper procedures by a qualified operator and only for the purposes described in this manual. The following conventions are used to indicate and classify precautions in this manual. Always heed the information provided with them. Failure to heed precautions can result in injury to people or damage to property. [. . . ] For details on the method of display depending on the General settings, refer to Common Attributes (page 227). 2-14-6 Input Functions Input by User Input from Host Enter values using numerical input and confirmation touch switches (control code input keys) on the base screen or pop-up windows. Read the contents of the consecutive words specified in the host using the Read touch switch on the PT. 2-14-7 Output Functions Output to Host Write the specified record details to consecutive words specified on the host using the Write touch switch on the PT. 235 Recipes Section 2-14 2-14-8 Relationship with Other Elements When setting parameters from the PT, you must make settings by combined use of numerical input and the confirmation touch switches on the base screen or pop-up window. If there is a numerical input column in the pop-up window, it is a temporary input column. Once input values are displayed in the temporary input column, press the Return key to store them to the parameters column. Record data (parameters) for recipe data can be transmitted to/from words in the host. Record data (parameters) for recipe data cannot be read/written directly from/ to the numeral memory table. Consequently, to display record data set in the PT as graphs or numeral display elements, perform the following operation. Write the record data (parameters) to words on the host. Specify the recipe data write address to the area allocated in the host for numeral memory table entries. Refer to the numeral memory table entries in step 2 using graphs or numeral display elements. Recipes will be stacked in order of the elements registered on screen using the Support Tool. (Only one recipe can be created in one screen, so the order of recipes may not be changed. You also cannot change the display order between recipes and other elements. ) Reference: Recipe elements differ from numeral display and numeral input elements in the following ways: S Recipe elements hold recipe data separately from memory table entries within the PT. Recipe data is read and written in record units to and from a consecutive area in the host starting from a specified word. S You can read and write data not merely for one word, but for multiple words (200 records maximum, 400 words maximum) in a single operation. S You can collate the data from these multiple words as a single record, and set and display up to a maximum of 1, 000 recipe data records in table format. S The direction of data transfer with the host as either from PT to host, or from host to PT, is selected using the touch switches. S The execution and timing of data transfer with the host is controlled by touch switch operation (i. e. , using the Write touch switch or Read touch switch). (Unlike numeral display elements, data is not always read from the host). 236 Window Function Section 2-15 2-15 Window Function The PT has window function that can display a window overlapping the currently displayed screen (base screen). Windows can be opened without restriction whenever necessary. Reference: The opening of windows by the operations at PT can be inhibited by a PT status control area operation. 2-15-1 What Are Windows? A window is a screen that can be displayed overlaying a currently displayed screen (base screen). Its size and display position can be designated without restriction. [. . . ] Foreground/background relationships in screen drawing Screen displays (In particular, it is necessary to correct the screen numbers of the display history screens. ) Continuous screens (Screen switching must be performed with touch switches. ) System keypad (Must be registered using symbol manager in the Support Tool. ) Control codes in character strings (Control codes 00 and 0A must be edited out. ) Bit memory table entry settings (Correction of the screen switching function is required. ) Guide characters (labels) protruding from touch switches (The position and color of guide characters must be edited. ) Overlapping of fixed displays and touch switches/lamps (Colors must be edited. ) Be sure to edit the screen data and user program to correct the problems listed above when reusing screen data and user programs from earlier PTs. 456 NT20S and NT30/620 Compatible Modes Appendix C Reference: Appendix A of the Support Tool's operation manual describes the editing that may be required when converting data. The following items may need to be edited. Refer to the Support Tool's operation manual as necessary.
