[. . . ] Contents Before Using CD/MD TUNER AMPLIFIER Connecting FR-N3X Preparations Instruction Manual Basic Operation Thank you for purchasing the Onkyo CD/MD TUNER AMPLIFIER. Please read this manual thoroughly before making connections and turning on the power. Following the instructions in this manual will enable you to obtain optimum performance and listening pleasure from your new CD/MD TUNER AMPLIFIER. Please retain this manual for future reference. Advanced Operation Additional Operation WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE OR ELECTRIC SHOCK, DO NOT EXPOSE THIS APPLIANCE TO RAIN OR MOISTURE. During recording, you can check the elapsed time and remaining time on the MD using the DISPLAY button (See page 35). Recording input source Recording track number When the MD is recorded up to its end, recording automatically stops. To stop a recording while in progress, press MD . The indicator lights up on the display. Press the button again to resume recording from the stopped point. At this time, the track number increases by one. Numbering the desired song(s) Press REC during recording of the desired song. If you do not hold down REC long enough (about four seconds or less), the song may not be numbered. 32 Recording from another Onkyo System (Synchro Recording) This function is useful when you record CDs while selecting tracks. It is also convenient for analog recording from another Onkyo system. The following operations are available if you connect an optional Onkyo casette tape deck to the FRN3X. ­ Synchro Recording from the unit CD to the stereo cassette tape deck ­ Synchro Recording from the unit MD to the stereo cassette tape deck ­ Synchro Recording from the stereo cassette tape deck to the MD unit. 1 2 For more information on Synchro recording from a CD or MD to a cassette tape, refer to the instruction manual for the cassette tape deck. This section explains how to perform Synchro recording from a cassette tape deck to an MD in the FR-N3X. 1 Set up the recording source (in this example, a cassette tape) and insert an MD in the MD recorder. Check the available recording time on the MD. If the display does not indicate the available recording time, press DISPLAY repeatedly.
