En-3 Getting to know Your Speaker Package Front speakers (SKF-501F) Rear Speaker Explanation with the Stand Removed 4 1 2 D Keyhole slots 3 A Stand fixing screw B Stand C Speaker cable Removing the Speaker Stands You can remove the stands from the speakers and place the speakers on the floor or in a cabinet if you like. The stands must be removed when the speakers are to be mounted on a wall by using the keyhole slots or commercially available speaker brackets. (A) (B) (C) 5 6 These keyhole slots can be used to wall-mount the speaker. E Speaker mount/bracket inserts These threaded inserts can be used to attach the speaker either horizontally or vertically to a speaker mount or bracket. Note: Use commercially available M5 (5 mm) screws to attach the speaker to a speaker mount or bracket. F Speaker terminals These push terminals are for connecting the speaker to your DVD/AV receiver with the speaker cables. The speaker cables are color-coded for easy identification. Simply connect each cable to the same-colored positive speaker terminal. Using the Rubber Spacers with the Speaker Stands Removed If you want to use the speakers without the stands, we recommend using the supplied rubber spacers to achieve the best possible sound. The rubber spacers prevent the speakers from moving around, providing a more stable setup. Rubber spacers 1. Remove screw (A), and then slide off the stand as shown. Disconnect the wires from the speaker terminals. Detach the speaker cables from the stand. Remove screws (B) and (C), remove the stand, and then detach the speaker cables. To replace the stand: Perform the above procedure in reverse order. First, connect the speaker cables, and then replace the screws in the following order: (C), (B), (A). Bottom of the speaker En-4 Getting to know Your Speaker Package--Continued Wall Mounting The speakers can easily be wall mounted by using the keyhole slots. To prevent the speaker from vibrating against the wall, attach four of the supplied spacers to the keyhole fins on the rear of each speaker. Mounting vertically To mount the front speakers vertically, use the keyhole slot shown to hang each speaker on a screw that's securely screwed into the wall.
