USEFUL TIPS For the best results when blending solid ingredients, place small portions in the jug instead of putting a large quantity all at once If you are blending solid ingredients, cut them first into small portions (2-3cm). When blending solid ingredients, start by adding a small quantity of liquid. Add further quantities of liquid through the lid opening as required. Always hold down the blender lid with your hand while the appliance is operating. proceed carefully when blending thick liquids. To blend solid ingredients or very thick liquids we recommend you use the "Turbo" setting and add a little liquid to aid blending, thereby preventing the blades from sticking with food. ASSEMBLY AND USE Important: the blender jug and the blades will suffer from wear and tear with normal use of the appliance. Periodically check that the blades are not broken, chipped or loose. If the blender appears damaged, do not use; contact an authorised service agent to get replacement blades. Place the base on a clean and dry surface to prevent from moving when the motor starts operating. If necessary, gently move the jug sideways. Plug the power cord into the mains supply. Place the ingredients in the jug and hold the lid down with your hand. Turn the speed selector to switch on the blender. Before removing the jug, always switch off the blender and wait until the blades have stopped rotating. To remove the jug once the ingredients have been blended, lift directly up from the base. If the jug cannot be removed easily, gently rock sideways without rotating it. Never fix the jug to the blender unit when the motor base is switched on. If the appliance stops blending or if the ingredients stick to the sides of the jug, switch off the blender, remove the lid and use a rubber spatula to move the mixture towards the blades. Do not store food or liquids in the blender jug. Do not bang or allow the blender to fall. [. . . ] If blending hot foods or drinks in the blender, liquid can shoot out on removing the lid. Always remove the filler cap from the lid before blending hot food or liquids. To add food while the blender is operating, remove the filler cap from the lid and pour the ingredients through the opening. If you use the blender to make sauces or other recipes with tomatoes, onions or other vegetables, for best results use a low power speed setting. [. . . ]
