Never use this appliance if the power cord or plug is damaged, if it is malfunctioning, if it has been dropped or has fallen into water. Take the appliance to your nearest service centre for inspection or repair. [. . . ] kEEP THESE INSTRUCTIONS SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FOR THE POWER CORD 1. Never pull on the power cord or appliance. To plug in, hold the plug firmly and push it into the socket. Each time before use, inspect the power cord for nicks and/or scuff marks. If you see any, take the appliance to your service centre as the power cord must be replaced. Never coil the power cord tightly around the appliance. This could lead to excessive strain on the power cord where it enters the appliance and cause rubbing and breakages. dO NOT USE THE APPLIANCE IF THE POWER CORD SHOWS ANY SIGN OF DAMAGE OR THE APPLIANCE MALFUNCTIONS , OPERATES IRREGULARLY OR DOES NOT OPERATE AT ALL. DIRECTIONS FOR USE This appliance is for domestic use and can be connected to any AC mains socket. Using for the first time Important: During the first minutes of using for the first time, you may note fumes and a slight smell. This is normal and need not cause concern. Always keep hot surfaces away from the skin. Do not touch the metal curling tong with your fingers. If you have shorter hair, place a thin plastic comb between your scalp and the plates in order to prevent contact with the scalp. Check with a small section of hair that the temperature setting is right for your hair. Turn on, set to the required temperature and allow the metal curling tong to heat; it takes about 60-90 seconds to heat. The LED stops blinking and stays lit continuously when the set temperature has been reached. When the required temperature setting is reached, the temperature LEDs stop blinking and remain lit continuously. You must press the "+/-" button to heat the tong. Warning: Be very careful when using the tong as it becomes very hot at the highest temperature setting. USE IN THE HAIR Divide the wet or dry hair evenly into several sections and comb uniformly. [. . . ] Use a soft, slightly damp cloth to clean the handle. Do not allow water or any other liquid to enter the handle. If material should build up, clean the tong with a mild, gentle soap or a special cleaning fluid and wipe with a soft cloth.
