NOTE ON USING FOR THE FIRST TIME Your new hairdryer has been manufactured with a protective layer around the coils of the internal heat resistance. When you switch it on for the first time you will probably notice that it smells of burning and it smokes a little. This poses no hazard to the user nor is it a defect in your hairdryer. Keep the hairdryer switched on until the smoke evaporates. SHORT CIRCUIT DUE TO OVERHEATING This appliance is equipped with a thermostat which will cut out the hairdryer should it overheat. In the event of the appliance cutting out while in use, set the switch to the off (O) position and allow to cool down. Once the appliance has cooled down, the thermostat restarts automatically and you can resume drying.
