(For Cooling models, the operation mode switches between COOL and FAN to maintain a constant room temperature. ) DRY operation Indoor unit will automatically switch to cooling operation with a low fan speed. (The outdoor unit will be cut-off if the room temperature is less than 21°C or the remote control set temperature is higher than the room temperature. ) 3 4 Press C to select the setting temperature (16°C ­ 31°C). UP DOWN Press to increase temperature by 1°C. Press to decrease temperature by 1°C. Press D to select the fan speed. The display changes in this order. FAN SPEED FAN SPEED FAN SPEED AUTO FAN SPEED MED HI LO AUTO fan speed Indoor unit will detect the temperature differences between the remote control set temperature and the inlet air temperature, and switches the fan speed accordingly. The larger the difference between the two temperatures, the greater will be the fan speed. (If the operation mode is set to FAN, the fan speed will be fixed at MED regardless of the temperature difference. ) ­7­ 4-3 How to operate (with timer operation) * Set the clock and other operation details (refer to page 7 for operation setting details) before setting the timer. To set an earlier time, press the button. The setting changes more rapidly if the buttons are pressed continuously. Press A once more to complete the settings. (Example) TIMER (The time display will stop flashing. ) Setting timer operation Timer operation can be used to start and stop the indoor unit automatically. To set the OFF timer To set the ON timer 1 Press C to activate the OFF time setting. The unit contains a crank case heater to protect the compressor. When the unit is not in use for a long period of time, turn off the circuit breaker (the heater consumes 25 to 40 watts of electricity per hour). · Remove dust from the outdoor unit. · Clean off the rust on the outdoor unit to prevent it from spreading. Before starting the air conditioner for the first time in the season · Check that the inlet and outlet vents of both the indoor and outdoor units are not blocked. · Check that the ground wire is connected and is in good condition. · Check that the air filter has been cleaned. · Turn on the circuit breaker about 12 hours before operating the air conditioner. Operating the air conditioner immediately after turning on the circuit breaker may cause damage to the unit. Do not cut off the circuit breaker during the season. 6. PROPER USE Avoid direct sunlight while cooling Close the windows' curtains or blinds. Do not use other heating equipments in the same room while operating the unit Using heating equipment will reduce the unit's cooling efficiency. Do not block the airflow Do not place anything near to the inlet and outlet vents. [. . . ] If operating the indoor unit for a long period of time, use dry operation to lower the humidity. · This is a normal operation as there is a auto restart operation function. The operation will resume based on the previous settings. During heating operation (Heat Pump type only) Airflow does not start immediately after operation is started.
