For optimum performance and safety, please read these instructions carefully. Before connecting, operating or adjusting this product, please read the instructions completely. [. . . ] See the operating instructions for connected equipment for operational details. · VIERA Link "HDAVI Control", based on the control functions provided by HDMI which is an industry standard known as HDMI CEC (Consumer Electronics Control), is a unique function that we have developed and added. As such, its operation with other manufacturers' equipment that supports HDMI CEC cannot be guaranteed. · This unit supports "HDAVI Control" function. "HDAVI Control" is the newest standard (current as of February, 2007) for Panasonic's HDAVI Control compatible equipment. This standard is compatible with Panasonic's conventional HDAVI equipment. Connection Using the VIERA Link "HDAVI ControlTM" Connect your home theater equipment (VIERA Link "HDAVI Control" compatible VIERA television or DIGA DVD recorder) with an HDMI cable. · It is recommended that you use Panasonic's HDMI cable. Non-HDMI-compliant cables cannot be utilised. Recommended part number: RP-CDHG10 (1. 0 m), RP-CDHG15 (1. 5 m), RP-CDHG20 (2. 0 m), RP-CDHG30 (3. 0 m), RP-CDHG50 (5. 0 m), etc. HDMI IN Amplifier Ferrite core with cable tie HDMI OUT DVD recorder (DIGA) TV (VIERA) Digital audio out (optical) Connect this so you can enjoy surround effects with audio from your television. Setup Read the connected equipment's operating instructions (TV, etc. ) and make the necessary settings to activate the VIERA Link "HDAVI Control". Play Switch on all your equipment. Switch your television (VIERA) off then on again. Switch television (VIERA) input to HDMI. Switch the unit's input to "BD/DVD" and make sure that images from DIGA appear correctly. (Do this whenever you change connections or settings. ) DVD one-touch Home Theater operation Point the remote control at your DIGA DVD recorder and press . The following operations are automatically performed when you press [DVD ONE TOUCH PLAY] . The DVD recorder comes on and starts playing back the recorded media in the selected drive (e. g. TV (VIERA) switches on and TV input changes. Playback starts after the unit is turned on and the input source for the unit switches to "BD/DVD". You can also adjust the volume on your TV (VIERA)'s remote control during playback. (An indicator appears on the television showing that you are adjusting this unit's volume. ) · Press [u SKIP] on your DIGA DVD recorder's remote control to start playing a disc or a recorded TV program again when playback does not start from the beginning. Note 24 RQTV0311 Audio output from the DVD recorder (DIGA) switches from speakers on the TV (VIERA) to speakers connected to the unit when you turn the unit on. Audio output automatically switches to speakers on your TV (VIERA) when you turn the unit off. (Refer also to "Using HDMI Standby" on page 14. ) VIERA Link operation (using TV's remote control) Automatically switches off · Home Theater switches off automatically when TV (VIERA) is switched off. Connected DIGA DVD recorder (with HDMI cable) also turns off. Using the VIERA Link "HDAVI ControlTM" Home theater switches off but sound from DIGA DVD · In standby mode, when you have set sound output to amplifier at TV recorder comes through (VIERA), this will automatically turns on the unit. home theater speakers Automatically switches input to "BD/DVD" Enjoying sounds from TV (VIERA) Enjoying sound from connected equipment to TV (VIERA) · Automatically switches input to "BD/DVD" when playing DIGA DVD recorder.
