If the tool is dropped or otherwise subjected to mechanical stress, you should have it examined by an appropriate specialist for damage before using it again. Do not use any disproportionate force during insertion or the battery pack may not end up in its correct position. After the battery pack has been inserted check that the retaining clips have engaged and the battery pack is seated firmly in the charger. To remove the battery pack from the charger press the retaining clips on the sides of the battery pack and remove it. Charging the battery pack Before inserting the battery pack into the charger or removing it from the charger, always ensure the plug is not in the mains socket.
