J Never leave the device switched on and unattended. j Push the helical spring 4 into the opening as far as it will go. j Turn the helical spring 4 clockwise to fix the multifunctional holder 7 in place. Q Inserting / replacing soldering tips CAUTION!Allow the soldering pencil to heat up without a soldering tip. 1. Insert a soldering tip 2 into the soldering pencil 1 to a depth of half of its shaft length. Tighten the clamp screw 3 using a Phillips screwdriver. j Remove the soldering tip only when the device has been switched off and the soldering tip 2 has cooled. GB/IE/CY 13 Operation Q Operation The mains voltage must correspond with that shown on the sander rating plate. Equipment labelled as 230 V may also be used with 220 V. Q Switching on and off Switching on: j Insert the mains plug into a suitable mains socket. Switching off: j Pull the plug out of the mains socket to switch off the device. Q Third hand CAUTION!The clips 5 on the third hand 6 can become hot while you are soldering the workpiece. Rotate the clips 5 until they are oriented in the required direction. Clamp the workpiece between the two clips 5 . Q Solder sponge CAUTION!The hot soldering tip 2 must never be placed in contact with a dry solder sponge 8 , otherwise the solder sponge may be damaged.
