For non-emergencies, sign off the AOLTV service, and your phone line will be available. CALL WAITING AND AOL Here are some further details about call waiting. · If you have call waiting service turned on, your Set Top Box disconnects automatically when you get an incoming call. · If you don't have call waiting, or if you choose to turn it off while you are online, callers get a busy signal. · If you turn off call waiting while you are online, it's automatically turned back on when you sign off. · Different phone services might have different codes to turn off call waiting. Contact your phone company if you're not sure of your code. The code also may be listed in your local telephone directory. 21 SETUP (CONT'D) CHOOSING ACCESS PHONE NUMBERS Access phone numbers are the numbers your Set Top Box dials to reach the AOLTV service. In many cases, there are several different numbers in your local area from which to choose. For some people, access phone numbers in more than one area code might be local calls. You can make your screen name unique by adding numbers and letters to a name or word. For example, use SallyonTV or SallyonTV123 or alternate spellings such as SalleeonTV. It's a good idea to jot down several alternatives in case your first choices are already in use. AOL will generate alternative suggestions if you can't think of any yourself. Each AOLTV account can have up to seven different screen names -- one primary screen name and up to six controls. Right now, you just have to create the primary others. You can't screen name -- the one that gets billed for the account. You can create other screen names when it's convenient Each name has its own mailbox, password, and parental to do so. See Additional Screen Names below. CREATING ADDITIONAL SCREEN NAMES You can have up to seven screen names on your account: the primary screen name and six others. We recommend you give each child his or her own screen name, separate from the primary account. When you sign on to AOLTV, you choose which screen name you're going to use for the session.
