4 Get started
You can connect the parent unit or the baby unit to the mains or insert batteries to operate it. For added reassurance, insert batteries to guarantee a backup in case of power supply failure. If you use rechargeable batteries, make sure that you charge them separately. To set up the baby unit:

Before you connect the baby unit to the mains socket, remove the lid of the battery compartment. Connect a supplied adapter to the baby unit and to the mains socket. To set up the parent unit: Follow the same procedure as you do to set up the baby unit. 8
