Since the display is automatically reset to "00:00:00" when you insert a cassette, the actual start of the cassette for the set is less than zero thus in the negative range. The tape position is displayed with a minus sign ("-"). PROBLEM Searching for tape position with picture (picture search) 1 During playback press H (rewind) or I (forward) Different search speeds If you press H or I twice, this increases the tape speed. If you press it again the speed is reduced to normal once more.
