Read SMS The Read SMS item of the Messages menu allows you to consult the list of SMS you Read SMS have saved and received, and that are first stored on your SIM card. Several options allow you to then manage them directly on your mobile phone. Received Messages - Store graphic(s) if one or several graphics and/or animations were sent together with the message, - Extract a number included in the message itself, if this number is included in double quotes (several numbers can be included and extracted), - Call the sender of the message (operator-dependent). - Move to Archive allows you to store read messages in the phone memory. Saved messages can then be consulted by pressing , and selecting Messages, SMS Archive. Moving a message to the archive list deletes it from the read SMS list. - Edit a message in the Read or Archive folder, modify it and resend it to someone (you can add a picture or a sound). If a picture or a sound was attached to the message you edit, you must first detach it and store it in the Picture album or in tthe Own melod. Then re-attach it to your message (see page 42). Saved Messages - The messages you received and already read are labelled with . Messages received but not yet read are labelled with s. Select a message and press , to read it. When displayed, press , to access the following options: - Reply to the sender and send him a message, - Forward the selected message (choose the recipient in the phonebook or enter a phone number manually), - Delete the selected message, - Store number of the sender if it is attached to the message, - Store melody if a melody was sent together with the SMS (see "Downloaded and own melody" page 23), The messages you sent are labelled with in normal mode or with t in auto save SMS mode (see page 44). Select the message you want and press , to read it. When displayed, press , to access the options described above in "Received Messages", including storing the caller's number. Calls and messages 43 Delete all SMS Allows you to delete all the messages of either the Read SMS (messages on SIM card) or SMS Archive (messages in phone) lists of the Messages menu. Reply path (subscription dependent) SMS settings SMS settings This menu allows you to customise your SMS via the options described below. SMS centre You can activate or deactivate this option, which allows you to transmit your Reply path SMS message centre number with the message. Your correspondent can then reply using your own SMS centre and not theirs. This speeds up the rate of transmission. Delivery report (subscription dependent) Delivery report SMS centre Allows you to select your default SMS centre. If not available on your SIM card, you must enter your SMS centre number. Signature You can activate or deactivate this option which informs you via a written message whether your SMS was received or not. Allows you to activate or deactivate the automatic saving of messages sent in the Archive menu. Allows you to sign your SMS. This signature consists of a series of characters Signature showing your default "Own number". This forms a signature that is transmitted at the end of your message. The length of the message is consequently reduced. You can edit the signature, modify and save it. Validity period (subscription dependent) Auto save SMS Auto save SMS Broadcast SMS This menu allows you to activate or deactivate the reception of SMS broadcast by the network to all subscribers.
