Installation or servicing of this product by persons without training and experience in electronic equipment and automotive accessories may be dangerous and could expose you to the risk of electric shock or other hazards. [. . . ] ⷠThe magnet will be needed to magnetize the tire again at a later date, so be sure to store it in a safe place. When storing, follow the precautions below. -- Do not store in direct sunlight or where temperatures may become high. -- Do not store in the trunk of your car as the trunk can become very hot during the summer. The magnet may also influence the sensor unit installed in the trunk. For safety, switch off the car engine and chock the tire. As shown above, mark the 90° section of the tire with white chalk. Do this by making two chalk marks on either side where the tire touches the ground. When performing this step, the space between the tire and body on some cars is very small, making it hard to rub the tire with the magnet. If this is the case, raise the wheel off the ground with a jack and then rub with the magnet. Rub the tire from edge to edge with side w of the magnet. With side w of the magnet, rub back and forth once or twice on the surface of the tire. It doesn't matter how you rub the tire, but make sure there are no parts of the tire surface that are left unrubbed. ⷠRub the tire as though you are painting it, leaving no part unrubbed. For safety, switch the engine off and chock the tire. As in step 3, rub just the surface of section q of the tire with side q of the magnet. Make sure the borders of the magnetized and demagnetized sections of the tire meet as near as possible at right angles (in a straight line) across the tire. When replacing the magnetized tire with a new one, magnetize the new tire. Also, if you use different tires in the summer and winter, be sure to magnetize both of them. ⷠDepending on road conditions, a tire's magnetism may weaken. If you suspect that error's for the location displays are increasing, magnetize the tire once more. ⷠTo improve the precision of the location display, it is recommended that you magnetize the tire again about once a year. [. . . ] If car speed pulse output is unstable, change the location of the sensor unit slightly, and repeat procedures from step 3. ⷠIf unstable operation continues even after changing the location of the sensor unit, magnetize the tire once more. Confirm operation, and when you have decided on the installation location for the sensor unit, set the output switch to the USE position. Stick the supplied Velcro tape (hard type) to the bottom of the sensor unit, and stick the Velcro tape (soft type) to the selected location for installation. [. . . ]
