Playback Functions To display the menu screen The way in which the menu screen is displayed differs from disc to disc. Press the MENU, TOP MENU or RETURN button during playback of DVDs, the RETURN button during PBC playback of video CDs. For details, refer to the documentation included with the disc. The following message appears on the display window: RESUME STOP Resume function (DVDs and video CDs) When the STOP button is pressed, " " lights. Press the PLAY button once the desired position is reached. 53 En Playback Functions Returning to the previous chapter or track - DVDs, video CDs and CDs Main unit Previous button Press the previous button during playback. · When pressed once, playback returns to the beginning of the currently playing chapter or track. · When pressed again, playback returns to the beginning of the previous chapter or track. Remote control unit Previous button 4 1 3 ¢ ¡ BASIC OPERATION Moving ahead to the next chapter or track - DVDs, video CDs and CDs Main unit Next button Press the next button during playback. When pressed once, playback moves forward to the next chapter or track. Remote control unit Next button 54 En 4 ¢ Playback Functions Removing discs Main unit English 1 Press the STOP button. Note: With CDs or one-sided DVDs, you do not have to worry about touching the label (printed) side of the disc with your fingers. DV D PL AY ER 4 Press PUSH CLOSE to close the lid. 55 En Turning Off the Power Main unit 1 1 When the power is on, slide the power switch to the left side and hold it there for at least 1 second. HOLD ON/OFF Power indicator · The power indicator switches from green to red and the standby mode is set. · The power can also be turned off by pressing the power button on the remote control unit. Remote control unit 1 BASIC OPERATION 4 ¢ 2 Unplug the power cord from the power outlet. 3 Disconnect the AC adapter DC IN 9V 3 from the player's DC input jack. 4 Disconnect the power cord from the included AC adapter. 4 2 Note: When using the battery pack (PDV-BT10), the power indicator turns off when the power is turned off. Terms Multiple Language The Multiple Language feature refers to the actual audio language that you hear while enjoying DVD playback. Up to 8 different language tracks can be recorded on a DVD. The Multiple Language function can be used to select the audio language of your choice. Region number DVD players and DVD discs include region numbers indicating the region in which they can be used.
