[. . . ] The indicator does not flash when you are using the telephone handset. Select a position where the OLI is visible ­ on your desk, on top of a computer monitor, or mounted on the wall. The OLI may also be snapped onto the vertical struts of the Headset Stand (17) as shown. While wearing the headset take the telephone handset off-hook. [. . . ] Place a call to a co-worker and while speaking turn the Configuration Dial (12) clockwise until you achieve the best sound. A paper clip can be used to make turning the configuration dial easier. Experimenting with these four settings will not harm the amplifier or your telephone. Your Amplifier provides both visual and audio feedback for all operator adjustments. EarCons provide audio feedback in the form of different toned beeping sounds for different functions. Double beeps indicate the ends and mid point ranges of each function. The intensity of the EarCon Audible Cue can be increased, lowered, or turned off (three levels plus off). Simply hold down the Mute Bar (6) then depress the Volume Rocker Switch (3) ( decreases volume or turns off EarCon; increases EarCon Volume) (see diagram E, page 1). Even though the user hears the EarCon, the calling party does not, even if you make adjustments midway through a call. Plug the AC Adapter into another wall outlet and ensure the power supply is switched on. Press the Headset/Handset Selector Button (7) at the front of the Amplifier to make sure Amplifier is in headset mode. Turn the Configuration Dial (12) on the left hand side of the adapter clockwise through each of the four positions until you hear dial tone. Check that all the cables are completely plugged in and in the correct port. press the purple mode button and listen for a musical beep. If you don't hear these musical beeps there could be something wrong with the headset or adapter - call your supplier or local Plantronics office for help. Turn the Configuration Dial (12) on the left hand side of the adapter clockwise to the next setting until the dial tone can be heard normally. Use the position that sounds best to you and the person you call. If both positions are the same then use the one you're currently in ­ they are both valid. Check that all the cables are fully connected and in their correct port. Call your supplier or local Plantronics office for help. Try unplugging the power cord for 2 seconds, reconnect and try again. Note that the indicator only works when using the headset not with the handset. [. . . ] ensure that the voltage and frequency markings correspond to the local supply. The mains socket outlet must be installed near the equipment and must be easily accessible. Use the A20 with a Plantronics H series headset. For headsets in this range please consult your supplier.
