By spanning CDs, you can back up your entire hard drive. Additional features include making a CD bootable, choice of compression, hard drive or image file integrity verification, and more. NOTE: CD Res-Q backup works only with Plextor CD-R and CD-RW drives. You can restore from almost any CD-ROM drive. If You Don't Have CD Res-Q CD Res-Q is provided free of charge if you purchase the SCSI model PlexWriter drive as a retail kit. If you purchased a non-Plextor retail box or an ATAPI-interface PlexWriter such as this one, CD Res-Q is not included. But you can purchase this software directly from Plextor. Installing and Using Software Other Applications Software Other valuable applications software--which may already be included if you purchased a kit from Plextor--lets you use your PlexWriter drive in exciting new ways. · Packet writing software: This type of application lets you use your PlexWriter as an enormous floppy drive. You can drag and drop files straight to a CD-R or CD-RW disc. · Mastering software: In conjunction with your PlexWriter drive, mastering software lets you create discs in specific formats, such as audio, data, mixed mode, and others. NOTE: If you use a CD-R disc with packet writing software, you can't use that disc later with mastering software (and vice versa). CD-RW discs also must be used with either one type of software or the other.
