Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] Dear Music Lover, Thank you for purchasing Polk Audio speakers. Designing and building speakers is more than just a business for the people of Polk Audio--it is our passion. We are all dedicated to your complete satisfaction and delight. your new PolkTM speakers include the latest loudspeaker technology to assure outstanding performance and unmatched quality. [. . . ] Once all four feet have been installed, place the speaker in its chosen location. If you are using the carpet spikes, place pressure on the top of the speaker until the spikes penetrate the carpet and make contact with the hard surface under the carpet. Measure enough wire to reach from your receiver or amp to each speaker. Keep in mind the extra length needed for running the wire around doors and windows. Leave yourself about 12" of extra slack to allow moving the speakers or receiver without having to disconnect the wires. note that one of the terminals on the rear of the speaker is marked red (+) and the other black (-). Make certain that you connect the wire from the red (+) terminal of your amplifier to the red (+) terminal on your speaker, and the wire from the black (-) terminal of the amplifier to the black (-) terminal on your speaker. Most wire has some indication (such as color coding, ribbing, or writing) on one of the two conductors to help maintain consistency. If your speakers sound "thin" with little bass and little to no center image, odds are that one of the speaker wires is connected backwards. Strip 1/2" of insulation from each of the two conductors on both ends to expose the bare wire. Twist the exposed wire of each conductor to form two un-frayed strands. Connect two conductors to the receiver or amp (refer to the owner's manual supplied with your electronics for assistance with proper hookup). Connect the two conductors on the other end of the wire to the speaker terminals. To connect wire to the binding post, unscrew the plastic hex nut on the binding post and insert the bare wire into the hole near the base of the binding post. Do not insert the insulated part of the wire into the hole as this will not give you a good connection. Twist the hex nut back down the binding post until it firmly meets the wire. The RT powered loudspeakers have a built-in power amplifier and must be plugged into a standard household AC power source in order to properly operate. RT powered loudspeakers sold within North America are designed to be connected to 110-120 volt AC outlets (Figure 3). All switchable multi-voltage units are preset at the factory to operate with 220-240 volts ("230V"). They may be reset for 110-120 volts ("115V") by simply moving the voltage selector switch located on the amplifier panel (Figure 4). If you do not know your local supply voltage, consult your Polk Audio dealer before connecting the amplifier to the supply or to your other hi-fi components. to set the voltage switch , DISCONNECT THE WOOFER AMPLIFIER FROM ALL OTHER COMPONENTS AND FROM THE MAIN ELECTRICAL SUPPLY OUTLET. [. . . ] If the problem is that you are not getting enough bass, make sure the AC cord is connected to a live 110 Volt AC power source and that the power switch is set to the "on" or "standby" position. Make sure that your electronic equipment is operating correctly by hooking up another speaker to the speaker output. the original retail purchaser shall hereinafter be referred to as "you. " However, this Warranty will automatically terminate prior to the expiration if you sell or otherwise transfer the Product to any other party. [. . . ]
