Cartridge status of the gripper Cartridge status of the bins located in the door Cartridge status of the bins located at the rear of the library Each drive may be accessed for more detailed information. If a drive appears as black, there is no drive present in that slot. If the drive appears with a red background, there is a problem with that drive or it may require cleaning. The management frame displays the read-only Element Information page (see figure 19) with information on a specific drive (see table 10). Note: If you add or remove drives from the library, the number of drives or bins on the Library Status page may differ from the number of drives shown on the Library Configuration page. To correct this, you must revert the library to a default configuration. The default configuration contains the factory defaults and settings. This includes, but is not limited to, partition settings and Fibre Channel port mapping. If further information is required, contact the Quantum Customer Support department. Certain bytes are necessary for FSEs to diagnose problems. 58 MC350 Prism Management Card User's Guide Chapter 5 ALERT Library Management Library Configuration Field Cleaning Requested Partition Description Displays whether cleaning has been enabled Displays the partition in which the selected tape drive belongs Each of the 12 bytes of the tape drive status code is assigned a specific function. Certain bytes are necessary for FSEs to diagnose problems. Library Configuration The Library Configuration page allows you to view and configure the library settings. The settings to configure are: · · · SCSI ID -- sets the SCSI ID of the library (represents the robotic 5 controller) Number of Drives -- specifies the number of drives Number of BarCode Retries -- determined how many retries the library will attempt to read the barcode of a tape cartridge during inventory. Valid values range from 1 to 8 · · Online on Power Up -- determines whether the library should be brought online after powering up No Barcodes -- enables or disables the barcode read feature. If the barcode read feature is enabled, the firmware returns are displayed. Note that an inventory is required in order to display the firmware returns. If the barcode is disabled, data retrieved via SCSI has the barcode blanked out even if the firmware returns valid barcodes. However, barcodes continue to appear in the Library Status page of a slave library in a multiple frame environment. MC350 Prism Management Card User's Guide 59 Chapter 5 ALERT Library Management Library Configuration · Auto Load -- determines whether the library will automatically put the tape cartridge into a free bin whenever a tape cartridge is detected in the load port Note: Do not use the Auto Load feature with partitioning. If partitioning is configured, the tape cartridge could be placed into a bin that belongs to a different partition. You would be required to move the tape cartridge into the correct partition after Auto Load finishes. · · Auto Drive Unload -- determines whether a tape cartridge can be automatically unloaded from a drive Auto Inventory -- determines whether the library should automatically inventory whenever an event such as power up or door close takes place Temperature Detection -- enables or disables display of temperature · · · sensor readings on the Library's LCD panel Auto Clean -- determines whether the library should automatically clean the tape drives as necessary Drive Configuration -- configures a drive's SCSI ID Accessing Library Configuration 5 To view or edit the library configuration: 1 In the navigation frame of the ALERT Library Management page, click Library Configuration.
