It is recommended that the tape head be cleaned only when the CT field appears on the Operator's Panel LCD. Periodic cleaning at regular intervals should not be required. Some application packages feature an auto clean cycle. If your application supports an auto clean function, ADIC strongly recommends that you use it. The cleaning cartridge is valid for 50 cleanings. Replace the cleaning cartridge when it is exhausted. Cleaning the head should always be performed as the first step if the &7 field appears on the LCD. The following table tells you when to use the cleaning tape: If . When cleaning is complete, log the cleaning onto the label. Back up the data from this cartridge onto another cartridge, it may be damaged. A damaged cartridge may cause unnecessary use of the cleaning cartridge. Replace the cleaning cartridge. 2. The data cartridge may be damaged A data cartridge causes the &7 field to appear on the Operator's Panel LCD The &7 field re-appears after performing a cleaning and reloading the data cartridge. Cleaning was not accomplished because the cleaning tape has exhausted all cleaning cycles. OR The data cartridge may be damaged 3. [. . . ] Push the front top bezel rearward and the rear top bezel forward, until the buttons clear the slot in the keyhole and the bezels can be lifted away from the chassis. Using a #1 phillips screwdriver, remove the two 4-40 x 1/4" phillips screws that secure each of the side bezels to the FastStor chassis. Note the screw in the bottom of each bezel. Push the front left bezel rearward, until the button clears the slot in the keyhole and the bezel can be lifted away from the chassis. [. . . ]
