Owner's Manual 15-1995. fm Page 2 Thursday, March 2, 2000 7:40 AM INTRODUCTION Your RadioShack 7-in-One IR/RF Remote Control can replace up to seven infrared remote controls. You can use it to control your TV, VCR, cable converter, satellite receiver, CD player, tuner, phonograph, video accessory, digital audio tape, cassette, laser disc player, or DVD player. Unlike some universal remote controls, this remote control is preprogrammed with the most commonly used commands and does not have to learn its commands from the original remote controls. All you have to do is tell it which device's remote controls you want to replace (by entering 4-digit codes). [. . . ] Repeat these steps, using the appropriate device key (TV, VCR, CBL, etc. ) in Step 1 for each device you need to search. Note: If you are searching for a VCR, CD player, laser disc player, or DVD player code, turn on the device and insert a tape/CD before you begin the search. Then, use PLAY instead of POWER. For example, to find out what four-digit code is operating your TV: 1. Notes: · If the 4-digit code begins with zero, only the last 3-digits will appear on the display. · To view the four-digit code for another device, press the key for the device you want to view in Step 1. · Write down the four-digit code then press ESCAPE to stop programming. USING FAVORITE CHANNEL SCAN You can program your 7-in-One Remote to scan through 10 of your favorite channels in either TV, Cable, or Satellite modes. Note: You can only maintain a favorite channel list for one device at a time. You cannot set up a favorite channel list for another device until you clear the existing list. Enter the first channel number you want to include in your favorite channel list, then press P. Notes: · Precede a single-digit number with a 0. · If you enter a three-digit number, you do not need to press P after entering the number. · If you use an ENTER key to directly access channels on your original remote, press ENTER after you enter the last digit of a channel number. Repeat Step 7 for up to 9 other channels you want to include in your list. To scan through your favorite channel list, press the appropriate device key, point the remote at your device, then press SCAN. The remote control repeatedly scans through the favorite channel list, stopping on each channel for about 3 seconds. Press any key when you see a channel you want to watch. Each time you press SCAN, the 7-in-One repeatedly performs cycles through the channels, stopping on each for about 3 seconds. CLEARING FAVORITE CHANNEL SCAN To change your favorite channel list, you must first clear the existing list. [. . . ] · Use and store the 7-in-One only in normal temperature environments. · Handle the 7-in-One gently and carefully. · Keep the 7-in-One away from dust and dirt. · Wipe the 7-in-One with a damp cloth occasionally to keep it looking new.
