[. . . ] When you burn a CD, take the following steps to get optimal use of the CD for playing in your DVD player. In your CD burning software, select ISO-9660 for the file system. Using the Joliet file system may result in shortened file names. Some transport modes (reverse and fast forward) are not available for MP3 CDs. 30 1590940A 3/7/02 9:22 AM Page 31 Chapter 3: Playing Discs (MP3s) The MP3 Display MP3 discs contain individual songs that can be organized into folders -- similar to how you use your computer to put documents (files) into different folders when you burn them onto the CD. The contents of a folder can either be songs or more folders (subdirectories). Selecting Folders and Songs Playback begins automatically when you insert an MP3 disc into the player. The player will begin playing the songs in the order they were burned on the disc. To open a folder, use the arrow buttons on the remote to highlight the folder and press OK (the songs in the folder appear). Use the up/down arrow buttons to highlight the song you want from the song list. To start playing the highlighted song, press OK. Skipping Songs Use the CH+ button to move to the next song. Use the CH-button to move to the beginning of the song that's currently playing. Press CH- again to move to the previous song. Note: There isn't an Info Display when playing MP3 files. 31 1590940A 3/7/02 9:22 AM Page 32 Chapter 3: Playing Discs (JPEG files) Viewing JPEG files This DVD Player can play discs with JPEG files on it. You can use the DVD Player to show the pictures in a slide show format. Slide Show After you put the disc in the DVD Player and it detects there are JPEG files on the disc, the slide show menu appears automatically. Use the up or down arrow buttons on the remote to highlight how fast you want the slide show to play. The slide show menu appears automatically when you put a disc in the player that has JPEG files on it. Fast - the picture stays on the screen for 10 seconds before displaying the next JPEG file (picture). Normal ­ 15 seconds between pictures. Press OK (the folders and/or JPEG files appear on the screen). Use the up and/or down arrow buttons to highlight a folder, and press PLAY (the slide show begins). To stop the slide show, press the STOP button. If the picture appears upside down or sideways, press the ANGLE button until it's right side up.
