Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] child safety seats ® ProBOOSTER Instruction Manual High Back Belt-Positioning Booster Child Restraint System Approved in accordance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 213. Tested in accordance to ISO/TC 22/SC 12/WG 1 N538 side impact protection requirements. Only suitable for use in vehicles with a lap and shoulder (3-point) seat belt system. Use the child restraint only with children who weigh between 30 and 120 pounds (13. 6 and 54. 4 kg) and whose height is between 37 and 61 inches (94 and 154cm) Suitable only for forward-facing installation. [. . . ] Once the head restraint adjustment handle is lifted either pull up or slide the head restraint down until the head restraint is in the proper positions detailed in step 1 and 2 of this section. 19 It is important to always check that the position of the head restraint height is correct for your child as your child continues to grow. Your child is too TALL for the ProBOOSTER when: · The child's shoulders are even with or above the red shoulder belt guides when the head restraint is adjusted to its highest position. · The child's ear is above the top edge of the head restraint when the head restraint is adjusted to its highest position. Your child is too SHORT for the ProBOOSTER when: · The child's ear is below the bottom edge of the head restraint when the head restraint is adjusted to its lowest position. 20 Section 9: Adjusting the ProBOOSTER to Fit Your Vehicle Backrest Recline Adjustment The purpose of the backrest recline adjustment is to help the ProBOOSTER fit flat against your vehicle's seating surfaces. However, due to great variation in vehicle seating shape and design, the ProBOOSTER is NOT suitable to use in all vehicle seats. Therefore, you MUST read and understand all of the information in Section 6: of this manual titled "Learning About Your Vehicle", which covers the types of vehicle seats that CANNOT be used with the ProBOOSTER. There are two (2) backrest recline positions: 1 1. The seat backrest is in the upright position when the recline bar is adjusted DOWN flat against the child restraint seat cushion. The seat backrest is in the recline position when the recline bar is adjusted UP flat against the child restraint seat back. NEVER use the recline bar in any position except fully down or fully up. 2 3 NOTE: Though it may seem that the recline bar is not providing recline, the purpose of the recline bar is to assure correct fitment of the child restraint to your vehicle seat. 21 To confirm the ProBOOSTER is properly fitted to your vehicle: 1 1. Firmly push the child restraint system into the vehicle seat cushion and toward the vehicle seat back. Both the seat base and seat back of the child restraint should fit as close to the vehicle seat as possible. 2 2. If there are large gaps to the vehicle seat as shown, you can move the recline bar to the recline position (flat against the child restraint seat back). The recline bar will close the gaps to the vehicle seat and allow the child restraint to be properly fitted to the vehicle for optimum safety. There should be a minimal amount of gap between the child restraint system and the vehicle seat. 3 4 NOTE: You many need to adjust or remove the vehicle's head restraint to allow the ProBOOSTER to fit properly against the vehicle's seat back. Refer to your vehicle's owners manual for information on how to operate this feature. 22 Section 10: Belt Routing and Positioning Around Your Child You must ALWAYS secure your child in the ProBOOSTER using your lap and shoulder (3-point) vehicle belt system. The ProBOOSTER must always be used forward-facing in the vehicle. You MUST always repeat the following steps each time you secure your child in the ProBOOSTER using the lap and shoulder belt system in your vehicle. 1 1. Place your child in the ProBOOSTER and confirm the correct head restraint location (see Section 8: Adjusting the ProBOOSTER to Fit Your Child, pages 18-20). Pull the vehicle's lap and shoulder belt out and around your child and the ProBOOSTER. Be certain that the vehicle seat belt is not twisted. 2 3 3. Position the lap portion of the vehicle seat belt system through the red lower lap belt guides. 23 4 4. [. . . ] It creates a broad surface on which to spread the forces of the crash, to reduce head and chest injury. It is considered "supplementary" to the lap/shoulder belts because it enhances the protection the belt system offers in frontal crashes. Also known as SRS - supplemental restraint system; SIR supplemental inflatable restraint; SIPS side impact protection system; IC inflatable curtain; SIAB side impact airbag. Belt-Positioning Booster: A platform that raises the child (provides a taller sitting height) so adult lap and shoulder belts fit better; some have high backs as well. [. . . ]
