Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] The curling iron and clips are hot when in use. Do not let eyes and bare skin touch heated surfaces. Do not place the heated unit directly on any surface while it is hot or plugged in. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). [. . . ] Place fingers of free hand on safety tip when you need more control for curling. Test a small section of hair to determine correct heat setting for your hair type. Special Reheating Feature This iron features solid-state electronic circuitry with a heat sensor that detects temperature loss and quickly boosts the power to bring the heat level back to optimum styling temperature. During use the indicator light will repeatedly go through cycles of flashing and becoming steady as the appliance is constantly bringing itself back to optimum styling temperature. How to Use Hair should be clean, dry or nearly dry, and free of tangles before using. (This iron can also be used for quick touch-ups any time. ) 1. Rest the iron on its stand on a smooth, flat surface, and plug it in. Press the ON/OFF switch, and the power indicator light will flash. 3 Select a temperature according to the type and texture of your hair. With the heat control dial set at the desired setting, allow the unit to pre-heat. The power indicator light will begin to flash, signaling that the appliance is heating up. When the appliance is heated the indicator light will glow steadily. Auto-off After approximately one hour, the unit will automatically shut itself off. To reactivate the unit, press the ON/OFF switch. Dual Voltage Use This appliance contains a special electronic circuit that automatically converts it for worldwide usagefrom 100 to 240 volts AC, 50 to 60 Hz. Just plug it into the local outlet and use it as normal; the styler will automatically adjust to the local current. (You may need an adapter to allow the plug to fit into the local outlets, however. ) Important During the first few minutes of initial use, there may be a slight odor. This is normal and will quickly disappear. 6 7 Usage Tips How to Get Professional Results with Your Curling Iron This unique curling iron has been designed with multiple temperatures, providing very high heat in the Hl (25-30) settings for curling very coarse, thick, hard-to-curl hair; and very low heat in the LO (1-6) settings for curling extra fine, damaged or dry hair. It also provides a full range of heat settings between LO and HI, for all normal textures and thicknesses of hair. TEST A SMALL SECTION OF HAIR BEFORE USING; THEN ADJUST TEMPERATURE DEPENDING ON HAIR TYPE. Maintenance and Storage Maintenance To clean the unit, be sure the unit is cool and unplugged. Wipe the handle and barrel with a damp cloth. Do not attempt to repair the appliance yourself. Styling 1. Start by dividing hair into sections not more than 1 inch deep and 2 inches wide. Keep the section smooth by brushing or combing through it while holding the ends taut with the other hand. Taking one section at a time, place the ends of hair over the barrel with the clamp open. Then close the clamp, making sure that the ends extend just a tiny bit beyond the clamp.
