[. . . ] These can be expanded flexibly to fit different stage setups and match the playing style. THRU OUT Jack · The D-BASS 115X features a THRU OUT jack, which splits the input signal, allowing you to use multiple DBASS 115Xs simultaneously. You can also use this jack to combine the D-BASS 115X with other amps and subwoofers for an even more powerful system compatible with venues of any size. Full Complement of Input and Output Connectors · The amp is equipped with a full set of jacks and connectors, including switchable XLR connectors, which can be used as Line Outs or Direct Outs, Tuner Out, Effect Loop, Line Out, Sub Out (expansion jack for connecting to the D-BASS 115X), Mute foot switch jack, and more. The Effect Loop jacks accommodate the connection of both series and parallel effects. COSM (Composite Object Sound Modeling) is Roland's innovative and powerful sound modeling technology. COSM analyzes the many factors that make up the original sound, such as the electrical and physical characteristics of the original, and then produces a digital model that can reproduce the same sound. 9 Panel descriptions D-BASS 210/115 Front Panel 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 210/115 1. INPUT Jack Connect your bass guitar here. This section features two jacks, PIEZO and NORMAL. PIEZO jack: Connect acoustic or electric basses equipped with piezo pickups to this jack. The ultra-high impedance circuitry provides a clear sound with minimal degradation in tone. * Inputting in excess of the optimal level can cause unintended distortion and may prevent the COMPRESSION effect from functioning properly. Setting the level too low results in excess residual background noise. * Be sure to check the input level each time you connect a different bass or have an effects device connected between the bass and the amp. NORMAL jack: Connect electric basses equipped with magnetic pickups to this jack. Connect to this jack when using preamped piezo pickups or when you have an effects processor connected between the bass and the amp. COSM AMPLIFIER 5. AMP TYPE Switch You can select from the three COSM amp types. 6. SHAPE Switch This effect alters the COSM amps' tonal qualities. The particular effect obtained varies according to the amp selected with the AMP TYPE switch (5). This amp type reflects the true tone of the connected bass, presenting the instrument's own sound to the fullest. This amp reproduces the full range of nuances produced by various performance techniques, and faithfully recreates every detail of the expressive elements of a performance. This is the perfect model for acoustic basses. Provides a dynamic tone with an even wider range. This amp type models the standard bass amp sound, widely used ever since the electric bass first appeared. It features a warm low end and contoured midrange. The minimal fret noise makes it perfect for finger picking. Provides a tone that boosts the fatness of the midrange. You can use the PIEZO jack and the NORMAL jack simultaneously. 2. Adjusting in SUB WOOFER Mode · As you listen to the overall combined tone from the 210/115 and the 115X, adjust the tone with the VOLUME and FREQUENCY knobs. Adjust the volume of the lower range with the VOLUME konb, and adjust the tone of the lower range with the FREQUENCY knob. fig. 03-03 VOLUME knob Volume 115X 210/115 Volume FREQUENCY knob 115X 210/115 Frequency Frequency The aim of these adjustments is to achieve a smooth, continuous link in the low frequencies between the 210/115 and the 115X. * Since the FREQUENCY knob also affects the overall low-frequency volume, we recommend that you readjust the VOLUME knob each time you make an adjustment with the FREQUENCY knob. In general, you can make adjustment easier by turning up the VOLUME knob slightly when you turn down the FREQUENCY knob setting, and turning down the VOLUME knob slightly when you turn up the FREQUENCY knob setting. Setups in which an acoustic bass is played through a bass amp can tend to cause feedback in the low-mid frequencies when the sound output from the speaker enters the f-hole in the bass body, resulting in a boomy reverberant sound.
