[. . . ] F-1 Utility - Browser Owner's Manual Thank you for using the EDIROL F-1 Video Field Recorder. This document describes operations of the F-1 Utility software for the EDIROL F-1. This software previews the clips recorded on F-1. For details on installation, refer to the separately downloaded "Installation" PDF. Roland Corporation and its affiliates assume no responsibility for any loss or damage (loss of profits, loss of data or other economical losses) caused by use of this software. [. . . ] If any other USB devices are connected (such as an external hard disk or printer), keep them detached while you're using this program. If you're using a USB mouse or keyboard, then during use of this program, connect only the F-1 (or the removable storage for the F-1) and the mouse or keyboard, and detach any other USB devices. 4 Using the F-1 Utility Browser Detaching the F-1 or the Removable Storage for the F-1 from the Computer When detaching the device from the computer, use any one of the procedures described below. Failing to use one of the following procedures to detach the device may, in the worst case, damage the removable storage or result in loss of recorded clip data. Be sure to follow the procedures. Click the On-screen Detach Button Clicking the button shown below enables you to safely detach the device from the computer. If you're detaching the device while this program is running, use this method to detach the device. fig. disconnect-button. eps Detach Using the Task Tray in Windows To detach the device after quitting this program, use the task tray in Windows to perform the operation. In Windows, click the button for disconnecting USB devices. Go to the task tray at the bottom right of the screen and click the button shown below. fig. task-tray. eps 2. Click the message that appears. Click the "Safely remove USB mass storage device" message. Wait for the message "The USB mass storage device can now be safely removed from the system" to appear. After the message just described appears, to be safe, wait an additional 30 seconds before detaching the cable. 3. 4. 5 Using the F-1 Utility Browser Names of Things and What They Do The browser window appears first when you start up F-1 Utility. fig. browser-screen. eps 1 9 10 11 12 8 13 2 7 3 4 5 14 6 15 1. Rearrange View Order This changes the order in which clips are displayed. Select Drive This selects the removable storage containing the material to be displayed. Disconnect Removable Storage Button This detaches from the computer the removable storage selected using the Select Drive feature just described. Data on a detached removable Storage cannot be viewed. If you want to see it, reestablish the USB connection. Memo Field You can add notes to the selected removable storage. This lets you record the name of the camera operator, the shooting location, or other such information. List View Area for Clips This displays a list of the clips in the currently opened folder on the selected removable storage. Clip Copy Control Buttons to control data copy. You can perform such operations as copying all clips in a folder in one batch or copying just one selected clip. Menu Operations that you carry out using the mouse can also be performed via the menu. 2. Monitor This displays the picture during preview playback of material. Time Code and Audio Level This displays the time code and audio level for the clip currently in preview playback. It also displays the format of video material (HDV or DV). Transport Controls These buttons control preview playback and perform singleframe forward and rewind. [. . . ] Note : You can select multiple clip at the same time by holding down the computer's Shift key or Ctrl (control) key as you click the clips. 11 Using the F-1 Utility Browser Batch Copy It is also possible to copy clip data by button operations. It is handy when displaying this program full screen on your computer. This method copies all clips recorded on the connected F-1 (or removable storage for the F-1) to the computer's hard disk as a single group. Click "Change" button to select a folder as copy destination. [. . . ]
